I stated with endo since I was 12 yrs old. Within the past 19 yrs I had 12 surgeries. I had my 1st surgery at age 14 yrs old. At that time they put me on b/c pills. I took them most of my life. Not that they helped much. I had surgeries after surgeries and they help for a little while but not to much. As the years went on the pain got worse and worse. To the point I couldn't do much. They it got to the point I had all I could do to go to work. I hated everyone and myself. I hated that it hurt to walk to the car that was only 100 feet from the houes about 500 feet for work.. I had to always have a heating pad with me every where I went. I had no friend but my family no one wanted to be around me because I would complain about the pain all the time. I went through about 12 drs before I found a dr that would listen to me. It took about 4 surgeries before the dr finally listen to me to take everthing out. When the dr went to go the hyster he did not take the ovareies out due to me being young. I begged him before he did the surgery to take everything. But he did not. I had no pain for about a month and it got worse. I had another sugery 9 months later and had to see a pain dr. I went to the pain dr and there was nothing he could do for me. He put me on antidressants (sp) that made me want to kill people. And then I was put on morphine 5 times aday for me to beable to get up and move around. I was back to where I was 2 yrs ago. I went to the dr and told him he is taking the reset out. With a little fight he agreed to take the ovaries out. I found out that I had endo in the ovaries and tubes that is why I didn't feel better. But now it had been 4 months this is the best I felt in 19yrs. I am starting to do things I haven't done in years. Please don't think that I do not know what you guys are going through I do. I suffered for 19yrs with endo. I'm still having some problems because of all the surgeries that I have but for the most part I feel so much better. So lady's there is some light at the end of the tunnel. I pray for everyone who suffers with Endo. And I will help in any way to find a cure for endo. I know it will not help me but if it helps someone else that is all that matters. God only gives you what you can handle. We may not think we can handle any more me can.. Good luck to all of you.. |

Masagnu I am soooo happy to see you here! We need more women who are not actively suffering to help with those who are. One we have more energy. Your story is VERY close to mine. At 28 I begged to have it all removed but when I awoke from surgery, he said "oh I misunderstood you we only removed the Endo" ARGH! Two years later is was back with a vengance! Then I had a complete Hysterectomy. One thing the Docs didnt tell me and they probably didnt explain to you either, is we are not cured:( I have a few women on my page that have had Total Hysterectomies and are going in for surgery on their bowels to remove Endo, one lady has it in her lungs. So not to be a downer, I am 6 years post op doing well but I may be having probs with my bowel again. I am still trying to figure out how this happens, but being there is no real answer as to how we get the disease it may take time.
My last surgery I had it on my bowel , bladder, my only ovary and had 5 fibroids so needless to say I am concerned about it returning but counting all my pain free days as a blessing. I have to say after my surgery I too felt like I had a new lease on life.
I am so glad you are here to help encourage many of us once we are feeling good walk away from it and dont think about the other women who may need our imput!

Thanks for your responces. I do know that I could always get endo again. But I'm walking in this with a postive note. Because everything has been all bad. Thanks for you help and I'm here for anyone. If you have any questions on anything nothing is TMI..

I didnt mean to sound negative, sorry, its hard to tell tone of voice on the internet. I just have found several women such as myself, who were led to believe that once you have a total Hysterectomy your "cured" I didnt know until recently that wasnt the case.
I am all for keeping this upbeat and huggin our sistahs when they are down. |

Hey all!
I have had endo removed 2x now, and dr told me i have 2 yrs to have kids naturally b4 i have to have a total hysterectomy. I have had UTI's, vag infections, & kidney infections since teens. THey have all lessened, but never stopped. I want to enjoy pain free time, but I know that's not going to last. I haven't worked in 1.5+ yrs, and it irks me. :(
All i can say is I'm glad to have found this site. It helps more than I can say to know i'm not alone.
